We’ve been away for Easter in the campervan. I think we’ve seen all of the possible weathers of the United Kingdom through the ten days we were away.
We have a fun music game for trips like this. Around three years ago, I copied the full text list of Rolling Stone magazine’s top 500 albums of all time, and dropped it in as a checklist on the notes app on my phone. We would then take turns picking three numbers at random (no peeking), and listen to as much of that album as we felt like.
Some we made it the whole way through. Some lasted maybe a song or two. But that’s ok, it’s a nice way to listen to new things you haven’t heard, and happen upon old favourites and stone-cold classics.
Today, I was switching up lists – the Uncut Magazine Top 500 was released after we started the Rolling Stone one, and so we’re porting over to that one now (checking off the ones we’ve listened to already).
I think it’s a much better list for Europeans, tbh – like the difference between MTV Europe’s 120 Minutes and the original US version.
