Assemblage Space

I had to share the Assemblage Space concept today with some speakers in preparation for the forthcoming IED Innovation & Future Thinking course in Barcelona next month.

And I realised that I had meant to get around to clipping a shorter video out of the Stories4Policy session which Scott Smith of Changeist and I delivered together up at Lancaster University two years ago.

There’s a longer video here, of the whole session with Scott’s excellent talk too.

The key points of the model – we have to pay as much attention to the past as the future, we need to beware the distorting effects of the contemporary, and we must seek other perspectives to understand the nature of what may emerge – all fit as good context for thinking about more participative futures.

I will get round to recording an updated version of this line of thinking, and specific applications, after the summer course too.
