I'm advertising at myself…
So, in the me-time that is the other bit of my life, I’m in a band called Gamages Model Train Club. You’ve gotta have hobbies, folks.
We’ve just finished an album, and it went live on iTunes, Last.Fm, Amazon MP3 etc this week, where of course you can buy it for a very reaso…
…ok, ok, what’s the point, Willshire, stop the flagrant self-promotion?
In my google reader, I use this thing called Soundamus which takes the data from my own Last.FM profile, and looks for new releases that I might like, and notifies me of their release.
You can probably guess what’s coming… yep, I’m advertising at myself:
Well, I suppose it’s better that than be in a band that Soundamus doesn’t think I’ll like…
Anyhoo, Soundamus is very cool, and has led me to spend more than perhaps I should have on Amazon. If you have a Last.Fm, get involved.
It’s a great example of how the data that we all collect in a comet-like trail behind us (either on purpose or inadvertently) can be harnessed by clever tools that make our life just a little better… a subject InfoMatt is very into indeed, if you wanna read more…
I quite liked ‘the data comet’ as an idea… so here it is in rudimentary photowillsh:
