Life Underground in NYC

Taking the Metro for the first time today, I changed at 14th & 8th, and saw a little bronze democrat donkey and republican elephant…


…and then loads more on the way through the station…




I’ve subsequently found out that it’s called ‘Life Underground’ by Tom Otterness, and is just a small part of the MTA’s dedication to making the travelling experience “a first-rate art museum with works created in mosaic, terra cotta, bronze, glass, and mixed-media sculpture.”

And given Rupert’s previous post on little people, I thought it was a fitting addition to Feeding the Puppy…
