Measuring Word of Mouth
On the back of a previous post, Simon from Hyperlaunch suggested that I should come along to Measurement Camp, an open-source, multi-agency attempt to try and develop some criteria by which to measure social media. So I did, and a very productive couple of hours it was too…
Of the many things I picked up, perhaps my favourite is Boardreader, which tracks message board & forum mentions of givewords, names, phrases etc…
…so far, so ‘Google trends’. But it gives you a much more maleable data set, stat & graph producer, and also gives you actual numbers.
It’s not perfect, of course, because it doesn’t cover off all forums or boards. But as another spotlight to help illuminate what’s going on with your campaign, it could be pretty useful I think.
